Sometimes I feel like a Motherless Child

From the book I'm currently reading, there's a brief mention of this song:


Which thankfully led me to watch this 20 minute video "Last Word: Odetta" from the NY Times, as she picked this song to be remembered by. I can't pick any special minutes from the video (although minute 6:18-7:47 gives me goose bumps), just her presence is incredibly inspiring and coherent. When asked if music can change people she responds:

"I think so, I think especially... when it touches an area that probably no words to cover the area, just soothes a particular annoyance that you had or fear that you had or something within the music says something that you would love to be able to find words to say and... yes I think is healing, very much so".
