"On March 13th. 1961, the president of the United States, John F. Kennedy presented the most ambitious program in his agenda: the Progress Alliance that sought to 'improve the quality of life on all the inhabitants of the continent' and stop the spreading of communism in America.
 [...] As a photographer, Edgar managed to capture the shared hope of the peasants and the colombian government functionaries with the new reforms, the deep solitude of those who were not able to be part of the programs [...] Edgar captured poor peasantry in the hope of change."
