Gloria Gaynor, I Will Survive

I can't say enough about Costa Rica. There are places in the world that have been really wise in putting a frame on Nature and "ticos" do it exceptionally well. Aside every site we visited which was impeccable and well-organized, the attitude emanating from their people was beyond anything I have ever experienced before.

Not only they are warm, I think they value their income deeply, which is basically you, but they strive in delivering a better service from what they already have, and what they already have is fantastic. The last hotel we were in, we were asked by the staff on several occasions if there was something that could be improved, but we couldn't think of one single thing out of sync.

For the sad reflection, one that must be done sometimes, is the fact that in Mexico we have such similar places yet the lack of regulation, the corruption that sells jungles and the insatiable ones that develop over it with condos, have depleted and distorted the could have been of our touristic spots. If we add cartels and insecurity, then I can completely understand people going somewhere else to rest and restore.

Places where people care if you get on time to the airport, people that listen to what you are saying or buying and while at the cashier they ask you if, before taking good to import orchids to Mexico, to make sure they will make it home because he heard from some people the regulations had recently changed so the money and effort would be completely lost, once there.

On a personal level, so much green, healed my post-earthquake torn soul. Life is bursting, something always existing for a reason. If a flower has a deep chamber for water, there is either a butterfly or a bird that has a large tongue to reach for it. Yet watching Nature also shows us, how chaotic life and survival really is. While at some hanging bridges at Arenal, we [thank God] missed some kind of eagle, taking a screeching baby monkey on it's peak.

Life is a struggle, no matter how idyllic everything looks. It's survival at it's best.
