Planned (human) Obsolescence

There's something called planned obsolescence mostly applied in the industrial and technology fields. It means manufacturing a product with a determined span of "life". One of the most famous cases of planned obsolescence is the so-called light bulb conspiracy.

Seems a number from a distant past. The lack of resolution and dismissal of evidence from the Mexican government allows for injustice to become obsolete, an event from the past, images of rage slowly fade and peel away from the walls. Almost like a planned human obsolescence, a strategy of simulacra and oblivion from our failed government.

The dead just sigh. The families of the disappeared look outside the window feeling hopeless. Some confront the army, some will keep crying inconclusively, eternally.

Beyond the idea of loosing small pieces of our dignity, there lies something irreplaceable behind it: human obsolescence. Students, journalists, women, priests, it's all the same as they are piled on top of each other. Being tired or #YaMeCanse doesn't begin to cover anything anymore.

Maybe brutality comes with modernity, maybe after 43, there comes a point where injustice can hit thousands, but still nobody cares. Is massive the new limit? Do we have to ascend to millions for us to care? Maybe not even then.
