Sonido Changorama, Bisticumbia

I found this book at Vive Latino. It's a non-pretentious guide of Mexican rock bands from D.F., Guadalajara, Monterrey and Tijuana from 2000-2005. They also have a second book of bands just from Monterrey, a northern and musically prolific state in Mexico.

The editors established these dates not because they thought music was really important between those dates, but because since 2000, "the channels of distribution and mobility of material that bands used in 2000 were not the same that the bands used in 2003, having free online services with an unimaginable global impact such as myspace.com for example."

In any case, I was glad to see some familiar faces and I will always appreciate mexican independent efforts for book publishing. As a side note, from 593 musicians in the book, 50 were women and 543 men, which seriously, is not enough.
